    North East Arnhem Land Aboriginal Corporation (N.E.A.L.) is one of the largest Aboriginal Corporations in Australia in terms of both assets and revenue.


    N.E.A.L's members comprises of the 26 Traditional Owner Clan Groups of North East Arnhem Land. N.E.A.L originated from YBE that was created in 1968 to ensure that the development of North East Arnhem Land’s resources is shared and add value to the lives of all Yolngu people in the Region.


    From humble beginnings as the Yirrkala Brickworks in 1968 that supplied the bricks that formed the Gove District Hospital. N.E.A.L provides an array of work throughout the Region. From the recruiting, training and workplace engagement of First Australian People to conducting civil engineering, mine site rehabilitation, environmental management, consultation and building works. 


    N.E.A.L. offers these range of services throughout North East Arnhem Land, we adhere to advance the conditions and welfare of Indigenous First Australian People including the relief of poverty, sickness, suffering, distress, misfortune, destitution and/or helplessness among Indigenous people living in the Top End, by providing assistance to varying degrees.



    N.E.A.L. works in collaboration with Internal and External Stakeholders to ensure it delivers realistic outcomes for all First Australians from grass roots engagement, taking on new staff members from NTG diversion programs, recruitment agencies, direct labour hire and to ensure we provide a fully tailored wrap around service where the support structure remains well after employment starts to maximise the potential for their success in building a brighter future.

    •  26 clans make up the Yolngu nation of Arnhem Land and our Members are represented by a Dilak (elder) from each clan. Decisions are not made unilaterally; Employees, Management and the Members work together to achieve a unity of purpose.

    • Our methodology for all operations is to bring together Ngapaki (Western/European) disciplines and the knowledge systems of the Yolngu. Our cross-cultural platform is core to the company’s achievements in regional development.
